Hi Everyone,

I apologize; I had no intent of sending out another email so soon. However, whenever I send out an email I get bombarded by questions (as well as death threats, requests for chickens, and deals on Viagra). I now need to send another communiqué to respond to the questions generated by the last. Sort of a cascading effect; like Wall Street. Anyway, here is the important point. Our Kid’s Halloween Party on Sunday is a rain or shine event. The major outside activities are hayrides and the Blueberry Maze of Terrors. All the other activities are undercover such as our straw maze (under the pavilion) , cookie decorating and crafts (in the Research and Education Center), and storytelling (on CNN and Fox News). This is a great annual event for the kids; do not miss it because the meteorologists get their kicks (and ratings) by scaring people (Ancient meteorologists scared people with threats of meteors). It is only wind, rain and cold, so until Global Warming improves the weather conditions we will have to live with inclement weather.

Just for the record; if your company wishes to attach their name and company logo to our Research and Education Center it is again available for one million dollars. Lehman Brothers had to withdraw their offer.

Wind Fact; in 2008 the US became the number one country in the world for wind power generation. Thirty-one percent of new energy production being put online in the world today is wind energy.

On the pumpkin front; we have just received yesterday a load of high quality Howden pumpkins for your holiday carving (59 cents/lb) as well as delicious sugar pie pumpkins (79 cents/lb). In this time of tough financial decision making (do I send my kid to college or buy a pumpkin to carve?) it is important to realize the versatility of the pumpkin. You can cut a pumpkin in half, carve out the insides to feed your family and dry the shell to be used as bowls. Every pumpkin bowl made here in America reduce the need to have clay fired into bowls in China then packaged and transported by fuel guzzling ships to LA and placed on fuel guzzling trucks to be transported over our deteriorating highway infrastructure to nearby Wal-Mart’s. Hand carving pumpkins reduces our carbon footprint and delays Global Warming thus increasing the chances for inclement cold weather on Sunday. Hmmm….
